New Serial Coming Soon! – The Deity and The Witch

You (all three of you) voted, and I’m listening! If you didn’t get a chance to vote in the poll here, then I’d suggest you run over and do that quickly! (Or leave me a comment)

Deity and the Witch – In a world where gods and demons roam the streets, a witch has fled her coven to settle in a cozy city and open a tea shop. When a local demi-god comes in seeking her help with a curse, she can’t turn him away. The two quickly learn that their fates may be more intertwined than they thought.

Here’s my moodboard for it currently:

I was in a big viking era when I first got this idea (I have a thing for big Viking men…). I love the world of Norse gods, but I wanted to mix that with herbalism and more modernized witchcraft. What I got was an interesting world where the gods and their children still roam but in a more modern cottagecore street setting.

Think wet cobblestoned streets and greying brick buildings with tiny greenhouses stuffed to the brim with color. Think cold, foggy mornings and days of warm, bright sunlight. Think greenwitch running an apothecary meets Norse demi-god running a rowdy nightlife-scene.

Spice level will be pretty low, tbh. I’m a fan of tasteful spice (what does that even mean, Rachel?) and like it when it progresses the actual story or emotional tensions rather than just…to add spice. But, there will still be romance in the forefront. Also, be warned, I love a crazy plot line.

Tropes abound:

If you hate tropes…don’t read the next few bullet points. If you love them, you are my people:

  • Fated enemies-to-lovers
  • “Touch her and die” vibes
  • Soul-binding contracts
  • GrumpyxSunshine
  • Loveable side characters

More fun things the story will have:

  • Greenwitch magick
  • Tea magick
  • Norse-inspired gods
  • Found family
  • Curses and bloodpacts
  • Family/coven drama

My Plan:

I’m working on this. The story has about 50k already since it was my NaNoWriMo project a while ago and I’ve been tinkering with it here and there since then.

For now, I think maybe the first 5 chapters will be released and available for unpaid subscribers before going only to paid subscribers, or maybe paid gets them earlier? Not sure. If you have done a fiction serial on here previously, please let me know!

Again, this will be an experiment. Lots of flexibility as we go along, but I do want you all to have the full story by the end. I don’t like leaving readers hanging unnecessarily.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey!
