I have finally cracked into editing my manuscript with my developmental edits. I’m currently on chapter 4! There are a lot of heavier edits further in the book as things start to get a bit thin with the backstory and buildup. The first few chapters weren’t too big of an issue.
I’ve broken my edits into chunks. There area total of 25 chapters, but I might need to add some or remove some depending on how edits go. For now, I have things broken into 5 chapter chunks, where I can make sure to “rest” and treat myself accordingly.
So far, a lot of what I have to add is context and backstory. The main plot seems fine, but I could use some kind of subplot working as well. Otherwise, I’m enjoying the writing style and the coziness of the world.
The magick of this world was always my favorite part. It’s so deeply entrenched in nature, intentions, and being in touch with yourself and the world around you. I’m hoping to keep that going strong throughout the novel.
That’s all I’ve got this week.
Happy Writing!
Rachel
